James Buchan

Principal

After completing his studies at UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design, James received foundational design experience as a freelancer with interior design firms and general contractors in New York City.  Moving back to San Francisco, James gained hospitality experience working on all 4 resorts at the Pebble Beach Club, designing and purchasing under the guidance of Studio 808.  Later, James relocated to Los Angeles working with Alexander Design Build where LUXE magazine published his collaboration on interior architecture details for the Mountain Residence.  James joined Audrey Alberts Design (AAD) in 2015, drawn to Audrey’s reputation for modern interiors.  AAD provided him with the opportunity to closely collaborate with clients and contractors in an environment that encourages open communication.

The Hollywood based principal of James Buchan Design enjoys the admiration and respect of his fellow designers.

Andy Bristol

Environmental Designer

Andy Bristol began his professional career in the offices of the City of New York’s Department of Planning as a planner and community liaison.  Moving to Los Angeles in 1989, Andy earned a Masters of Architecture degree at UCLA’s Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning.  He joined Audrey Alberts Design after graduation as a Project Designer.  His contributions to the firm has spanned a broad range of responsibilities including selecting and specifying furnishing and finishes, designing custom furniture and cabinetry, managing and coordinating projects, and furniture layouts.  Andy brings his esteemed background and talent to Buchan Studio.
